Wii

So had a bit of a gathering this evening with Jordan, Shawn, and Miss Nelson. It was fun we had planned to play risk, but with Jordan's lack of strategic play and Sarah's subjetivity it made for a relatily short game. Not exactly the multi-hour strategic battles for everything from yesteryear.

I literally spent the entire day getting ready for having folks over / getting ready to head up to Ottawa. I didn't realize how much laundry I really had to do, I started at about 10:30 and was doing laundry up until 5. I was able to find the floor and even mop it and get all those dishes and such done.

I was happy to discover that my package had arrived which had everyone's Christmas presents in them. I also bought myself Catholisism for Dummies, should be a very interesting read.

The highlight of the night was playing with Jordan's Wii. It is so cool, I am really disappointed that the parents were unable to track one down up in Ottawa it is really fun. I'm really interested in seeing how Zelda plays. We also ventured to play Mario Cart Double Dash, which was a blast. Jordan and I were pretty close in our skill, towards the end I started holding way back to allow Sarah to not come in last. Then some battle afterwards, again it was Jordan and I who obviously spent too much time playing before.

Anyways only one more full day here and then I am off to go see the family, am I ever excited. Its true you don't realize how good you got it until it is gone. I havn't seen Christine since August, we already scheduled a little date. Not to mention my little pussy cat tinker, we used to be best buds, she would be there when I woke up and sleep with me...I'm hoping that I'll have that chance up there.

Merry Christmas to everyone,
Alain

Annoying Day

So yesterday I was so very annoyed, that I could not sleep and when I finally did get to sleep I woke up with a massive headached that has not gone away 3 hours later. I figure the best way is to get it off my chest. Since I have been bugging my friends to update their blogs I figured it was time I stepped up to the plate and had my own.

I had plenty of warning of how annoying the day was going to be as far as no power was going. They are building a new apartment next to mine, and in order to hook up their power, ours needed to be cut off at 8am for 4-8hours. That was fine and dandy, I went to mass in the morning knowing that my elevator would be our, seemed like a real good excuse. Joe came to mass and afterwards we went to buy my texts for next year, not cheap, and then worked on a project for Chritsmas.

I got home about 2 thinking/hoping power would be restored so there would be no problem. Sure enough no power and no phone. Losing phones were not part of the deal, but that is fine i figured it was just as long as power was out. So I went down to get my mail. Found my power bill, which was 5X higher then normal. I called Nova Scotia Power, on my cell because we had no phone lines, to sort it out. I had two options to pay the bill and any overages would be credited, cause I like them collecting interest over me, or read the meter myself. He explained how to read the meter and off I went. The meter reader missed the account by 1000KWh. So I had to call again to get my account rectified, the money I saved on power I probably spent on the phone bill.

We still had now power so I got a pizza for supper since I could not cook or warm up anything. My food is low now anyways because I'm heading for home in three days!! I had to work at 5 because the other guy is already gone home enjoying his Christmas with family. I get there to find out the late draw is cancelled, but only 2 teams showed up so by 6:30 I left because there was nver a need for me to show up.

Power was finally restored when I got home, but there was a friendly note letting me know that phones would be out for an undetermined period of time due to unforseen circumstances. aggrevating to say the least. Finally just before I went to bed the phones were turned back on but it made for a very annoying day.

Fortunatly tomorrow is going to be a fantastic day. All sorts of folks will be coming over to enjoy risk at my place. This has been in the plans for a few months, now that it is approaching I am really excited.

So that was my first blog entry, it took me a while to catch onto the bandwagon but I did arrive...I guess other things are like that too, but in the end it seems for the better.
